(USA) Area Manager - Maintenance (Grocery)

About the role

You will implement the business plan for your area of responsibility, monitor and manage productivity, maintain quality and safety standards, and supervise and develop associates and leaders. This includes managing daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and handling financial aspects such as tracking expenses and capital expenditures.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with individuals or groups (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates) verbally and in writing.
• Implement the business plan by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).
• Monitor and manage productivity by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports.
• Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing procedures and documentation.
• Identify associate, customer, or supplier concerns and determine corrective actions or recommendations.
• Supervise and develop associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation.
• Manage maintenance department daily operations, including monitoring warehouse equipment (e.g., material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration equipment, general building repairs) and ensuring compliance with regulations (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT).
• Manage financial aspects by monitoring expenses, capital expenditures, asset utilization, and preparing business reports.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Technical School Certification in an Industrial-related field and 1 year of related maintenance department supervisory experience, or
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial, or related field, or
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a maintenance-related environment (supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; participating in hiring and promotion), or
• 2 years of Walmart Logistics maintenance experience, including six months leading a work or project team (e.g., risk control), or
• 2 years of supervisory experience in an industrial-related environment, with 1 year in the maintenance field (supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; participating in hiring and promotion).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with compliance, general maintenance, Microsoft Office, or regulatory agencies.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments (based on location), and stock.
