US Regional Safety Manager

Responsibilities
Safety is E2 Optics' number one Core Value. All employees are expected to follow safe work practices, as well as adhere to company and client worksite safety policies and procedures. The Western US Regional Safety Manager will develop and manage corporate safety initiatives, work with personnel to achieve consistent safe practices, and provide support to regional field leadership. Specific responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing corporate safety initiatives to build a world-class program for all Western US Operations
- Working with personnel in all areas and at all levels to achieve consistent safe practices throughout the Western US Region
- Providing support to regional field leadership to build and maintain awareness of developing environmental, health & safety issues and adopt best practices
- Maintaining accident-prevention and lost mitigation programs for incorporation into the operational policies of the organization
- Determining corrective or preventative measures where needed and verifying measures have been implemented
- Communicating expectations, goals, standards, and metrics used to measure progress
- Attending and supporting required Safety Management meetings with all levels of both internal and external parties
- Developing, following up, and verifying completion of action items based on KPIs
- Maintaining health & safety leadership and awareness skills among Safety Managers to support compliance with internal and external requirements
- Managing Safety training needs in accordance with both E2 Optics and customer guidelines
- Providing technical and regulatory compliance expertise and support throughout the US operations
- Managing compliance inspections and audits and associated tracking
- Leading the investigation of accidents and injuries at region sites and cooperating in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in lessons learned communications
- Reviewing, compiling, and submitting accident reports required by E2 Optics processes
- Working closely with the Director of Safety US Operations and HR in the administration of the workers' compensation program to reduce employee lost time and managing all claims
- Supporting Human Resources with drug, alcohol, and medical screening of all employees as needed
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Environmental Science Safety, Occupational Safety & Health Management, Safety Management, Business Management, Psychology, or similar study
- 5+ years Safety Management experience in progressively responsible leadership roles, or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) required; ASP/CSP/SMS Certification preferred
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
- 5-10 years progressively responsible leadership roles within Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a construction or manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety laws
- Experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, safety training, hazard reviews, and job safety analysis
- Experience with Safety Management programs
- Administration and Management: knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, safety modeling (SOP), leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Law and Government: knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, and requirements
- Building and Construction: knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other structures within Regional Datacenters

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role requires sitting, use of hands and arms, verbal communication, and occasional physical movement such as stooping or kneeling. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight and confined spaces.
