Assists the Section Head in the Agency & Bilateral Loan Administration Section, ensuring accurate and timely administration/servicing of the Bank's agented loan portfolio. Ensures daily activity complies with state and federal laws, regulations, and Bank lending policies and procedures. Provides leadership, training, and supervision within the department, and maintains a high level of customer relations and service.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Mizuho LAU representative in coordinating transactions between customers, Agent Banks, Participant banks, Front office, Americas Treasury Division (ATD), and other parties.
  • Manage the administrative aspect of all new deal closings, including:
    • Providing expertise and guidance during pre-closing meetings.
    • Reviewing and commenting on credit agreements and other closing documentation.
    • Coordinating funds flow, fee allocations, disbursement of funds, and lender notification.
    • Building deals in the lending system.
  • Calculate, invoice, and disburse all deal-related fees.
  • Coordinate movement of funds related to initial funding and closing.
  • Work closely with borrowers and bank groups.
  • Report to management, supervisors, and account officers all transactions requiring special handling or approval.
  • Partner with LoanIQ migration teams to provide migration experience and LoanIQ processing support.
  • Assist with LoanIQ training of colleagues and contribute to future Ops Readiness initiatives.
  • Review, release, and approve traditional loan deals processed by administrators.
  • Maintain a high level of technical support to Loan Administration staff, account officers, and client base.
  • Independently manage administrative processes for complex loan deals (e.g., Project Finance, Securitization, ABL).
  • Provide consultative support to Account Officers on operational deal structure issues.
  • Review Document and Facility Instruction Sheet/CA Booking Request to compare loan documentation with Credit Approval, ensuring structure and content are identical.
  • Create or maintain accurate Credit Arrangements in ACBS.
  • Exercise restricted transaction approval authority.
  • Maintain daily commitment facilities, including monitoring borrowing status, preparing new borrowings, rollovers, rate sets, conversions, repayments, and prepayments.
  • Calculate, invoice, and disburse ongoing interest and fee payments from a Borrower and/or Lender perspective, including agency and amendment fees, and all monthly/quarter-end activity.
  • Maintain and monitor Fronting LC, Invoice Discounting, and Risk Participations.
  • Monitor and distribute financials when due.
  • Interact with Treasury on rate settings for foreign currencies and USD loans.
  • Verify the integrity of transactions and ensure ongoing data quality, integrity, and completion.
  • Act as a troubleshooter for deal management and related problems.
  • Communicate with Treasury to confirm discrepancies in funding rates.
  • Interact with customers for all cash movement activities and reconcile statements to ledger entries.
  • Independently manage all collateral requirements for credit deals and advise Account Officers of collateral shortfalls.
  • Perform periodic data integrity checks.
  • Undertake special projects and assume other duties as assigned.

Compliance

  • Obtain a basic understanding of applicable rules and regulations governing the Bank.
  • Direct all questions or clarifications about rules and regulations to the Americas Legal and Compliance Division.
  • Attend annual Compliance Training presented by the Americas Legal and Compliance Division.
  • Read and respond as necessary to all compliance-related reference and directive materials received.
  • Comply with the Bank’s “Code of Conduct.”
  • Designated as the person responsible for reporting potentially prohibited transactions (OFAC-related) upon detection.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of loan product experience as an Administrative Agent.
  • Experience with loan operating systems: ACBS, LoanIQ.
  • Experience with specialized lending products (e.g., Asset Securitization, Leasing, Collateralized Loan Obligations, Project Finance, Loan Trading, and/or Credit Derivatives).
  • Experience with compliance in a lending area.
  • Experience with collateral evaluation procedures.
  • Proficient in the management of lending products.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of wire transfer systems (FED, CHIPS, SWIFT).
  • Bachelor’s Degree.

Pay

The expected base salary ranges from $82,000 to $120,000. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and market/organizational factors. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.

Schedule

Mizuho has a hybrid working program, with varying opportunities for remote work depending on the nature of the role, department needs, and local laws/regulatory obligations. Some roles may require greater in-office presence, which will be communicated during the recruitment process.
