About the role
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option. Provides care of urologic patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or provider and assists with minor procedures.
Responsibilities
- Obtains patient history and vital signs.
- Explains procedures, documents care, and communicates findings with RN and Physician.
- Assists with urologic radiographic and ultrasound examinations and cystoscopies.
- Performs UDS studies with Provider is present.
- Assists with minor surgical procedures.
- Performs urinary catheter insertions and removals.
- Performs laboratory duties.
- Auxiliaries simple dressing changes.
- Communicates prescription refill requests to Physician and calls in refills to pharmacy.
- Performs delegated clinical tasks with a written provider order.
- Collections or prepares specimens.
- Administers medications and injections per practice-specific guidelines.
- Sends specimens to testing laboratory.
- Communicates abnormal results to providers.
- Cleans and restocks rooms, supplies and equipment.
- Transports patients.
Requirements
- Minimum Required Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited school or documentation of a medical program that meets the criteria of a medical assistant program such as military prepared corpsman or medic.
- Trained in urological procedures through vocational or post-hire on-the-job physician training.
- Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Relevant certification as determined at position level.
- Minimum Experience: 1 year of healthcare related experience.

Pay
$20.87 - $27.13 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Schedule
Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks).
