About the role

As a Urology Scrub Technician, you will support urologists in performing ureteroscopy and laser procedures, ensure equipment readiness, and maintain compliance with laser protocols and HIPAA policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures in accordance with all laser protocols.
  • Move and set up ureteroscopy/laser equipment in the OR prior to procedures.
  • Assist the urologist during ureteroscopy and laser procedures.
  • Arrive at the facility no later than 60 minutes before the procedure start time.
  • Submit complete and legible treatment/billing logs according to UMS HIPAA policies.
  • Review and maintain inventory of supplies and cystoscopy equipment.
  • Confirm procedure schedules, patient counts, and start times with facilities.
  • Maintain an after-hours contact at each facility for equipment failure or emergencies.
  • Notify the facility of potential cancellations and coordinate with the Laser Supervisor to accommodate patients.
  • Maintain and update Policies & Procedure Manuals, including pre-inspection reviews.
  • Prepare, clean, disinfect, and transport equipment and supplies.
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment to the service engineer.
  • Wear a company name badge at all times while on facility premises.
  • Build and maintain relationships with physician partners.

Requirements

  • Certified Scrub Technician, Certified Surgical Technologist, or similar background (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting.
  • Urology experience (preferred).
  • Prior experience with Holmium Laser utilization for urology procedures (a plus).
  • Knowledge of sterilization protocols (a plus).
