Urology Scrub Technician

United Medical Systems is a mobile healthcare services company offering shared service programs with an emphasis on delivering advanced urology technologies and cost-efficient solutions to healthcare facilities, physicians, and patients nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures in accordance with all Laser protocols.
• Move and set up ureteroscopy/laser equipment in the OR prior to procedures.
• Assist Urologist in performing ureteroscopy and laser procedures.
• Arrive at the facility no later than 60 minutes before the procedure starts.
• Submit complete and legible treatment/billing logs according to UMS HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Review and maintain inventory of supplies and cystoscopy equipment.
• Confirm schedule, number of patient procedures, and start times with facilities.
• Maintain an after-hours contact at each facility for equipment failure or emergencies.
• Notify the facility of potential cancellations and work with the Laser Supervisor to accommodate patient procedures.
• Maintain and build relationships with physician partners.
• Maintain Policies & Procedure Manuals, including updates and pre-inspection reviews.
• Ensure upkeep of equipment and supplies for efficient and aesthetic procedure performance.
• Prepare equipment for transport, including cleaning/disinfecting and storing supplies.
• Notify the service engineer of any malfunctioning equipment.
• Wear a company name badge at all times when on facility premises.

Requirements

• Certified Scrub Tech or Certified Surgical Technologist or similar background preferred.
• Prior OR experience preferred.
• Urology experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in an Operating Room setting.
• Prior experience with Holmium Laser utilization for Urology procedures is a plus.
• Knowledge of sterilization protocols is a plus.
