URI CDL Shuttle Bus Drivers
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Bus Driver to join our team in Exeter, Rhode Island for the University of Rhode Island shuttle operation. The position requires a valid Class C CDL with Passenger Endorsement and operates during the University Academic Year.
Responsibilities
- Safety-Focused Operations: Follow designated routes and schedules, adhere to safety protocols and traffic regulations.
- Passenger Care: Ensure smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation for all passengers.
- Vehicle Vigilance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety equipment.
- Adherence to Protocols: Uphold company policies and procedures rigorously, including seat belt enforcement, emergency response preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- 21 years or older
- Valid CDL Class C or higher with Passenger (P) endorsement
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
- Excellent communication & customer service skills
- Availability to work day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts as assigned
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
- Generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen
