About the Role

The Special Education Teacher provides high-quality educational services to students in grades K-12 under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator. This role involves developing and implementing individualized instructional programs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting student success, and partnering with general education staff to ensure students receive the services and accommodations they need.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized instructional programs for students with special needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
• Provide special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation to general education staff.
• Participate in team planning and implementation of student programs.

Requirements

• Active California Teaching Credential.
• Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Special Education Credential (Required).
• Previous school-based experience (Required).
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification in Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred).
• Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement (preferred).
• Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR certification if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
