Urgent Opening For Business Process/Design Thinking Strategist

About the role

We are looking for a Business Analyst/Design Thinking Strategist to assist in an expanding and exciting area in our Generation Solutions Business Unit. This is a 12-month+ contract position based in Charlotte, NC with a hybrid work arrangement. Portfolios are required; access must be granted if password-protected, or the portfolio should be shared as a PDF.

Responsibilities

• Lead current-state process mapping efforts, capturing end-to-end workflows, data flows, system interactions, and user roles.
• Facilitate working sessions to align stakeholders and create a shared understanding of how processes function today.
• Translate discussions into clear, structured artifacts (process maps, system maps, data flows, and user interactions).
• Partner with business and IT leaders to design future-state processes and capabilities aligned to digital and AI-driven transformation.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation, simplification, or improved data flow.

• Exceptional facilitation skills (can run workshops and working sessions with senior leaders and operators).
• Proven ability to build alignment and consensus across business and IT stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into simple, visual outputs.
• Ability to drive toward outcomes (not just discussion) and produce tangible deliverables.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in design research, product strategy and design, and/or service design.
• Your story/portfolio reflects a full understanding of the entire product cycle, from initial conception through build and into deployment.
• Experience in business strategy and value assessment is a plus to align product strategy to business objectives.
• Ability to understand business needs and use value to drive research to achieve outcomes.
• Extensive experience planning and facilitating cross-functional workshops at various levels of leadership in a corporate setting.
• Comfort with developing narratives and storytelling to influence and guide leaders and relevant stakeholders throughout the product cycle.

Deep experience in process mapping and process design (BPMN, value stream mapping, Lean, or similar) is required. Strong understanding of enterprise IT architecture (applications, integrations, data flows, and system dependencies) and hands-on familiarity with modern AWS architectures (e.g., cloud-native patterns, APIs, event-driven design, data platforms) are essential. Ability to connect process, data, systems, and users into one cohesive view is critical.
