Urgent Care Veterinary Practice Manager

About the role

The Practice Manager oversees day-to-day operations to ensure efficient after-hours acute care delivery while fostering a positive work culture. They lead the team and embody the UrgentVet ethos of "Pet-First, Client-First."

Responsibilities

• Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients and uphold a "Pet-First, Client-First" philosophy.
• Community Engagement and Brand Ambassadorship: Collaborate with referring veterinarians and local businesses, positioning UrgentVet as the go-to for urgent pet care.
• Inclusive Workplace Culture: Foster a safe and inclusive work environment where diversity is celebrated and every team member feels valued.

Requirements

• Experience in veterinary medicine, people management, and comfort working alongside veterinarians.
• Emotional Intelligence and Communication: Strong emotional intelligence, effective communication, and negotiation skills.
• Leadership and Team Management: Innate leadership skills, proven track record of managing and developing teams.
• Operational Expertise and Business Acumen: Knowledge of veterinary practice operations, critical thinking skills, and business acumen.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in veterinary medicine or a related field.
• Experience: Prior management experience in a veterinary or related field.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and proficiency in delegation.
