Urgent Care Senior Veterinary Assistant

About the role

The Full-Time Senior Veterinary Assistant position at UrgentVet - O'Fallon is an opportunity to make a significant impact in the community by providing exceptional patient care, leading a team, and delivering high-quality client service in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art urgent care clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding patient care, including but not limited to wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia.
• Multi-task in a hands-on environment, demonstrating professionalism, dependability, and healthy communication skills.
• Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• May be required to travel for on-site training and onboarding.
• Must have prior customer service experience and prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting.
• Regular on-site presence is required due to the essential nature of the role in supporting patient care, responding to time-sensitive needs, collaborating with clinical teams, and maintaining the safety and well-being of patients, clients, and staff.

Requirements

• Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
• Additional duties including facility maintenance and client education.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
