Job Summary

Physicians independently perform a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections and are also responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostics and/or therapeutic procedures for patients.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school required
  • 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required
  • Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required
  • Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine, Active state medical licensure

Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

  • Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
  • Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Essential Functions

  • Examining and treating patients
  • Taking patients’ medical histories
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
  • Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
  • Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
  • Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
  • Educating and counseling patients
  • Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
  • Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
  • Supervising GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented to you for supervision
  • Acting as a Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs in the credentialing process, including signoff of the PA/NPs delineation of privileges (DOP)

Job Responsibilities

  • Working an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift
  • Supervising GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented to you for supervision
  • Acting as a Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs in the credentialing process, including signoff of the PA/NPs delineation of privileges (DOP)
  • Each provider will work an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift
  • All other duties as assigned
