Urgent Care Pediatrician

Opportunity Details

Children’s Mercy Kansas City – Urgent & Express Care Division is expanding its team and seeks board‑certified or board‑eligible General Pediatricians. The position offers exceptional work‑life balance with an average of 3–3.5 shifts per week, no call, no overnight pages, and no after‑hours responsibilities. Academic appointments are available through UMKC School of Medicine and the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent and express pediatric care in state‑of‑the‑art clinics.
• Perform simple procedures such as laceration repair, abscess incision & drainage, foreign body removal, and other minor interventions.
• Utilize on‑site labs, x‑ray, IV hydration, respiratory support, and medication administration.
• Document care in a fully integrated EMR system (transitioning to EPIC).
• Collaborate with a supportive team of 60+ urgent care physicians and APPs.

Requirements

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in General Pediatrics.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality urgent and express pediatric care.
• Willingness to work a shift‑based model (3–3.5 shifts per week).
• Ability to integrate into academic teaching opportunities.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $197,000 – $220,000 per year, based on experience.
