Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant- Per Diem
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners with urgent care, emergency room experience, or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will provide a wide range of clinical services, including treatment of acute episodic conditions, and function in lieu of or alongside a physician.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
- Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
- One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required
Required Licenses/Certifications
- National Certification
- Active state medical licensure
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.
- Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays
- Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting
- Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Essential Functions
- Examining and treating patients
- Taking patients’ medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Education and counseling patients
- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
- Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
Work Schedule
- Eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift
- Assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care
