Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Eastern Shore - PRN/ Hourly
About the role
This PRN position covers the La Plata, Charles County region of Maryland. UM Urgent Care providers serve as clinical leaders in our centers—delivering exceptional medical care, fostering outstanding patient experiences, and working collaboratively in a close-knit team environment with medical assistants and radiologic technologists. We care for patients ages one and older, treating a wide range of conditions including upper respiratory infections, sprains and strains, lacerations requiring sutures, employee health physicals, work-related injuries, and preoperative evaluations.
Schedule
Providers work 12-hour clinical shifts (8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.). PRN providers are required to give at least 2 days of availability each month, with two of those days being weekends. All PRN providers must also give one day of availability each month to be the 'emergency on call' provider for all of our facilities.
Requirements
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in good standing with the state of Maryland, or licensure pending approval
- Active NPI number, DEA registration, and CDS license, or in the process of obtaining them
Qualifications
- Prior clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, intensive care, or primary care settings—whether as a provider, nurse, or technician—is strongly preferred
- Proactive, growth-oriented mindset and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality patient care
- Intellectually curious, enthusiastic about urgent care medicine, and open to feedback as part of ongoing professional development
