URBN Order Picker Operator

About the role

The equipment operator will help fulfill orders in the warehouse by utilizing warehousing equipment such as forklifts and order pickers. This position will be in the warehouse facility, specializing in large furniture shipped across North America. The role operates on one of two shifts covering a 7-day-per-week schedule. Candidates should be motivated team players with a positive attitude, good organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a multi-task environment while maintaining attention to detail. Individuals must be willing to accept new and diverse assignments and work effectively with all organizational levels, including fellow employees, customers, and management.

Responsibilities

• Operate a scanner to track the location of products in the building
• Operate warehousing equipment such as forklifts and order pickers frequently
• Safely operate in a warehouse environment
• Work as part of a team
• Follow work instructions
• Follow-up on tasks

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school degree or GED (a plus)
• Warehousing or manufacturing experience (a plus)
• Forklift or heavy machinery experience (a plus)
• Able to operate department-specific technology (e.g., RF scanners, desktop computers, touchscreens)
• Maintain acceptable attendance and be able to work overtime as required
• Comprehend and follow work instructions to meet productivity and quality standards

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for considerable distance throughout a shift
• Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods
• Reach, pull, push, and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 pounds
• Operate warehouse equipment safely (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker), requiring coordinated movements
