In June 2025, Crane announced the planned acquisition of Precision Sensors & Instrumentation (PSI) from Baker Hughes for $1.1 billion. PSI, including brands like Druck, Panametrics, and Reuter-Stokes, specializes in sensor-based technologies for aerospace, nuclear, and process industries, serving customers in over 90 countries.

About the Role

This leadership position oversees the Downhole and Radiation Monitoring verticals within the Process Flow Technologies segment. The role reports to the VP/GM and focuses on driving strategy, growth, and operational excellence in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute long-term planning and strategy for Downhole and Radiation Monitoring product lines.
  • Lead annual planning, ensuring accountability across functional and business areas.
  • Drive opportunity strategy and capture planning, including win themes, competitive positioning, pricing strategy, risk mitigation, proposal development, and commercial negotiations.
  • Cultivate executive-level and working-level customer relationships to enable full-scope project solutions.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, identifying emerging needs and influencing product roadmaps.
  • Optimize and integrate processes to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Develop and present business cases, technical roadmaps, and risk mitigation plans to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with project management, operations, and engineering teams to meet expectations.
  • Build long-term customer relationships domestically and internationally with the commercial team and key technology experts.
  • Gather market research, voice of the customer, and competitor intelligence to grow the product line.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and corporate business ethics guidelines.
  • Segment, target, and position products/services in the competitive landscape.
  • Work with Supply Chain to develop supply strategies and cost targets.
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) planning and commercial success in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Participate in Stage Gate product and technology development teams, including documentation for gate meetings.
  • Represent the organization in external discussions, customer engagements, and technical forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 8 years in cross-functional leadership roles.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in sales, operations, engineering, or technical support; oil and gas industry experience preferred.
  • Financial acumen with responsibility for the financial success of a business or project.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills driving business growth.
  • Proven ability to plan, document, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills with familiarity in Systems Engineering processes and Agile Project Management methodology.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving results.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other regulatory standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., nuclear, medical, food).

  • Up to 40% annual travel for customer and supplier visits (domestic and international).
