Upper School Science - Long Term Sub
Location: Nashville, Tennessee | Type: Full-time, temporary (August 6, 2026 – December 18, 2026)
About the role
Franklin Road Academy seeks a long-term substitute for an Upper School Science teacher. Candidates should have experience teaching physics and chemistry and desire to be part of a collaborative faculty that resonates with FRA's mission to develop leaders of integrity in an inclusive Christian community. This position requires close coordination with other grade-level teachers. The department meets regularly to share best practices and ensure a collegial atmosphere of growth and development.
All teachers at FRA serve as advisors for groups of 8-10 students, meeting four times per week, and are encouraged to integrate themselves into the school community.
Responsibilities
- Follow and modify (as needed) pre-planned curriculum to meet the needs of the class through the creation of various assessments
- Serve as advisor for a group of 8-10 students
- Meet regularly with the department to ensure streamlined curricula, expectations, and best-practice pedagogy
- Perform general teaching tasks such as tracking attendance, assigning homework, grading assignments, giving feedback, and communicating effectively with students at all skill levels
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and other faculty responsibilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in subject area or related field
- Experience teaching upper school students
- Experience with current software, hardware, and computer applications
