Upper School English Teacher (Leave Replacement)

Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, New Jersey, an independent, Catholic all-girls PS-12 Sacred Heart School, seeks a full-time Upper School English Teacher for a maternity-leave replacement from August 19 through November 6, 2026.

About the role

This position will teach five sections of Upper School English (including English 9, Senior Seminar, and Journalism) and serve as an advisor.

Responsibilities

• Create an inclusive classroom and work environment
• Use multicultural teaching methods, materials, and resources that reflect multiple perspectives
• Engage in professional development opportunities to further develop inclusive teaching and leadership practices
• Demonstrate cross-cultural competency in teaching and leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field
• Experience teaching at the upper school level (preferred)
• Experience at an all-girls school or faith-based school (a plus)
• Advanced degree (a plus)
• Excellent communication skills
• Philosophy consistent with the mission and goals of the Sacred Heart

Pay

Hiring range: $1,161 – $2,334 per week. Compensation is based on education, years of experience, skill set, and internal equity.
