Upper School Coaches – Fall 2026 (Seasonal/Temporary Part-Time; Begins August)
Job Summary
Franz W. Parker School is seeking applicants for several coaching positions for the Fall 2026 season.
About the Role
The school offers various sports including Boys Soccer, Girls Volleyball, Girls Tennis, and Golf, each requiring a Varsity Assistant Coach position. Chess also has a Varsity Head Coach position.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with high school-aged student-athletes, parents, and Athletic Department Administration
- Coach at the high school level with experience preferred
- Be familiar with IHSA and ISL rules and have a commitment to youth sports
- Create a respectful and positive team environment
- Engage athletes in learning through various activities
- Maintain accurate records of team performance
- Aid in scheduling non-conference matches and tournaments
- Show excellent leadership skills
- Hold CPR/AED Certification and ISBE or ASEP/NFHS certification
Requirements
- Ability to communicate with high school-aged student-athletes
- Coaching experience at the high school level preferred
- Experience/familiarity with IHSA and ISL rules
- A commitment to youth sports
- Flexibility in adjusting practices and responding to athlete needs
- Excellent leadership skills
- CPR/AED Certification
- ISBE or ASEP/NFHS certification
Pay
Compensation is paid bi-monthly for all required coaching duties performed Monday through Sunday. Compensation does not apply to full weeks in which no team activities occur, such as during scheduled school closures or breaks.
Schedule
Regular season practice and/or competition times are between 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Some Saturdays and Sundays are required depending on the sport. The season runs from 8/10/26 with the possibility of competition through 11/30/26, depending on the sport.
