About the role
Aspen Academy is seeking an exceptional Upper Middle School Math Teacher for the 26-27 school year. The position is full-time and on-site, with a starting annual salary range of $57,172 - $85,634 based on education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate students’ curiosity, engagement, growth, and performance in academic, intellectual, social, and emotional domains.
- Set empathetic limits with students, encourage natural consequences, and foster responsible decision-making in a supportive environment.
- Execute engaging lessons daily, evaluate lesson efficacy, integrate LiFE themes into the core curriculum, and lead impactful programs to develop strong Leadership, Finance, and Entrepreneurship skills in students.
- Plan and prepare for lessons and units, resources and technology, needs of neurodiverse learners and differentiated learning styles, and implement culturally responsive classrooms.
- Communicate learning goals and feedback, establish rules and procedures, help students interact, practice, and deepen new knowledge, and generate and test hypotheses.
- Engage students, recognize adherence to norms and procedures, establish and maintain effective relationships with students, and communicate high expectations for all students.
- Plan and prepare for lessons and units, resources and technology, needs of neurodiverse learners and differentiated learning styles, and implement culturally responsive classrooms.
- Ensure effective scaffolding of learning, practice, and mastery of Leadership, Finance, and Entrepreneurship skills in yourself and your students.
- Communicate proactively, positively, and consistently with students, parents, teammates, and the community, fostering a collaborative and supportive community.
- Evaluate personal performance as well as develop and implement a professional growth plan.
- Reflect on teaching and champion a positive environment; promote an exchange of ideas and strategies; promote our school and its community’s development.
Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s degree. Master's degree preferred.
- Preferred: Teaching certification, 3-5 years classroom experience, evidence of content mastery, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, a passion for Next Generation learning, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to igniting curiosity, and making learning fun and challenging.
- Preferred: Agility, adaptability, and a high degree of change-readiness, proficient use of computer software, Google Suite, and learning management systems (Blackbaud preferred).
