Upper Level Social Studies Teacher (2026 – 2027 school year)

Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP), a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for girls in grades 6–12 located in Towson, Maryland, seeks a full-time Social Studies teacher for the 2026–2027 school year for the Upper Level (Grades 9–12).

About the role

This position involves teaching five sections of 9th grade United States Government. These courses emphasize analytical writing, source-based inquiry, and discussion-centered instruction. The 10-month position runs from August 16th to June 15th, including new-employee orientation on August 17–19, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to five sections of Social Studies courses in a college-preparatory environment
• Serve as an advisor and mentor to Upper Level students, fostering their academic success and personal growth
• Collaborate with colleagues to design, evaluate, and enhance curriculum and instructional practices
• Pursue ongoing professional development and remain current with best practices in teaching and learning
• Contribute meaningfully to the broader school community through service, student activities, and other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Social Studies or a related field (required)
• A master’s degree (preferred)
• Maryland State teacher certification or eligibility for certification
• Prior experience teaching high school Social Studies (preferred)

Pay

Annual salary is $50,000 to $70,000 based on degrees and experience.
