About the role

As an Upholsterer (Weekend) at the Booneville, MS facility, you will upholster fabric, fiber, and all necessary components to furniture frames according to specifications and Standard Operating Procedures on the upholstery lines. The role requires maintaining productivity to meet or exceed a minimum of 6 pieces per hour, with a goal of 8 pieces per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safe work habits and adhere to company Personal Protective Equipment standards.
  • Follow Williams-Sonoma policies with a positive attitude and willingness to assist others.
  • Obtain pre-assembled frames and attach fabric, fiber, and other components using upholstery techniques.
  • Upholster all necessary component parts to assembled frames per Sutter Street Manufacturing quality standards using tools such as staple guns, scissors, and hammers.
  • Ensure upholstered furniture meets quality requirements at a pace sufficient to meet productivity goals.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of upholstery experience in a production environment, preferably in upper-end upholstered furniture manufacturing.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail, work with hands, and read/understand production tickets.
  • Experience interpreting simple instructions from production manuals and performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English; ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Excellent time-management skills, including ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to frequently lift frames weighing 50–60 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for 12-hour periods and bend/twist at the waist and knees as required to upholster furniture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an upper-end upholstery manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to speak and understand Spanish.
