UPHOLSTERER

About the role

Construct or repair upholstered furniture by covering the furniture frame with materials such as leather, cotton, or suede.

Responsibilities

• Attaches fabric/leather to the arms, backs, seats, and outside backs of wooden frames using a compressed air staple gun.
• Performs continuous stapling with one hand while pulling the material with the other to complete sofas, loveseats, chairs, or ottomans according to specifications.
• Follows all safety procedures while performing the position.

Requirements

• 6 months or more of experience working as an upholsterer in a production setting.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical requirements include standing all day, bending, and occasionally lifting 80 to 100 pounds.
