Qualifications
- Valid NJDOE teaching certification/license as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities as well as a content certification (any content Science preferred), or eligibility to obtain
- Experience at the high school level preferred
- Strong content knowledge and passion for teaching
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver modified, standards-aligned science lessons (aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards)
- Adapt curriculum, materials, and assessments for students with Individualized Education Plans, including those with learning disabilities, autism, emotional disabilities, or other classifications
- Design and supervise safe, hands-on laboratory experiments with appropriate modifications and safety supports, differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications in resource replacement and co-taught inclusion classrooms
- Collaborate closely with general education science teachers, paraprofessionals, and the Child Study Team to implement IEPs effectively
- Other duties as assigned
Pay
- $63,335 - $101,035
