About the role
The UNIX Operations team is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer with 10+ years of experience in LINUX (Red Hat) systems administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide LINUX support for approximately 300 servers.
- Operational support of the LINUX estate.
- System maintenance including OS patching.
- Performance tuning of Oracle database servers.
- Server security vulnerability management.
- SolarWinds monitoring.
- Ansible playbook development and automation platform management/upgrades.
- Satellite 6 management and upgrades.
- VMware operational knowledge.
- Automation and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong TCP/IP networking, network topology, and firewalled environments understanding.
Requirements
- RHEL Linux 8/9 administration/patch management.
- Linux Server builds and custom configurations.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good server migrations skills.
- Good knowledge of automation.
- Nice to have: Storage management basics, Database administration basics, Windows administration basics, Cloud integration basics, Veritas NetBackup management basics, Understanding of applications like JBoss, WebSphere, Splunk and HP ALM.
Qualifications
Must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Skills
Strong skills in TCP/IP networking, network topology, and firewalled environments.
