University Student Assistant - Multimedia Assistant (Spring 2026 - Fall 2026)
Salary: $8.25 per hour (Max 26 hours per week)
About the role
The Multimedia Assistant will work as an integral member of the Department of Housing Operations and Residence Life’s Marketing Team to help in reaching our residents and prospective residents through graphic design and marketing materials. This role relies heavily on the ability to create original designs and requires strong visual and written communication skills. The Multimedia Assistant will contribute to various projects and campaigns throughout the academic year.
Responsibilities
- Designing graphics for print and web
- Produce creative content for social media such as Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram
- Keep content of flyers and documents up to date
- Maintain University digital board content
- Work in coordination with the JSU Print Shop to prepare files in a print-ready format
- Work university events such as Preview Day, Accepted Students Day, and Summer Orientation sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Working towards a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field
- Present a portfolio with examples of work showing experience with Graphic Design/Marketing
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
