Position Details

Position Purpose

Transports furniture, office equipment, and related items within the university campus and off-campus as needed.

Operates vehicles and mechanical equipment as required to facilitate loading, unloading and transport of materials, as appropriate to the area of operation.

Routinely interacts with all constituents in the campus community.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Physically able to safely perform all normal job duties.
• Able to handle large shipments of heavy supplies and the loading and unloading of trucks including frequent lifting requiring the execution up to seventy (70) pounds.
• Ability to read, understand and follow routine verbal and written instructions and procedures.
• Interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate with various levels of the university community in addition to outside vendors.
• A valid vehicle operator’s license and a driving record acceptable to the university for coverage by the university’s insurance carrier.

Desired Qualifications

• Previous experience in stockroom and/or shipping and receiving.
• Knowledge of inventory control, stock quantities, moving/set-up and order systems.
