About the role
The Archaeological Repository collections manager will be responsible for managing the repository's collections, ensuring their preservation, and providing support to researchers and students.
Responsibilities
- Manage the repository's collections, including accessioning, cataloging, and maintaining records
- Ensure the preservation of collections through proper storage and handling procedures
- Provide research support to archaeologists, historians, and other scholars
- Collaborate with other departments within the university to promote the use of the repository's resources
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and funding sources
Requirements
- A Master's degree in anthropology, archaeology, museum studies, or a related field
- Experience working with archaeological collections and provenience data
- Knowledge of preservation techniques and standards
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Strong background in archaeological methods and theory
- Experience with digital repositories and databases
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing archaeological collections
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with archival software and databases
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
