University Mental Health Counselor

Kutztown University's Counseling Center is currently accepting applications for full-time licensed mental health professionals to provide short-term counseling services for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Counseling Center is located in the student health center, reporting through the division of Student Affairs. Counselors utilize a solution-focused model and serve undergraduate and graduate students in a team-oriented setting. Responsibilities include providing solution-focused individual and group counseling; risk assessment and emergency intervention services; and clinical supervision of graduate counseling students. See application website for full details and responsibilities and to submit application materials. TL;DR summary:This is a temporary, non-teaching position for the full 2026-2027 academic year. Services are provided in-person on the Kutztown University campus. Only fully licensed mental health professionals will be considered (LPC, LCSW, psychologist - sorry, no LSW, LMFT, or LAPC). Professional counseling experience with young adult populations is required. The Counseling Center is open Monday-Friday with hours varying between 8:30am-7:00pm; must be available to work until 7:00 pm on Tuesday OR Wednesday. Letter of interest, current resume/CV, and transcripts are required at time of application submission. Must meet all minimum requirements to qualify for an interview. Interviews will begin immediately and continue until the positions (2) are filled. Minimum Requirements- A master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field. - Unencumbered PA licensure (LPC, LCSW, or Licensed Psychologist). - At least three years professional experience providing counseling to young adult populations. - Demonstrated cultural competency through work experience with individuals and communities of color; LGBTQ+ individuals; working with people of various abilities, faiths/non-faith, ethnic backgrounds, and other diverse populations. - A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion. Preferred Qualifications- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a clinical setting working as a licensed counselor. - Previous experience providing counseling services to college students in a university counseling center is strongly preferred. -Experience with crisis intervention and management. -LCADC/CAADC and experience completing drug and alcohol assessments.
