Universe Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Universe Engineer with 10+ years of recent, active development experience specifically in Universe Basic and the Universe Multi-Value database. Candidates must currently be developing in Universe Basic and have a track record of at least 80% of their time dedicated to adding new features or capabilities, rather than break-fix or minor production support enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Universe Basic in a formal SDLC environment.
• Integrate Universe systems with external systems using technologies such as HTTP, XML, and RPC.
• Work with custom codebases you did not originally develop.
• Develop solutions based on specifications created by others.
• Leverage RocketSoftware MultiValue Integration Server (MVIS) to enable REST APIs for existing Universe Basic programs and data (MVIS experience is a plus but not required).

Requirements

• 10+ years of recent, active development experience with Universe Basic and Universe Multi-Value database.
• Demonstrated experience integrating Universe systems with external technologies (e.g., HTTP, XML, RPC).
• Ability to learn and work with custom codebases developed by others.
• Experience developing based on specifications in a formal SDLC environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience in the Hospitality or Vacation Ownership industry.
• RocketSoftware MultiValue Integration Server (MVIS) experience.
• Experience with other PICK Basic variants such as UniData, Pick D3, Reality, or OpenQM.
• Experience using external logging platforms for troubleshooting, such as Splunk or Dynatrace.

Note: Individuals with prior experience at MVW should be vetted with MVW early in the consideration cycle.
