Universal Technician

Bluffton, OH, US, Bluffton, Bluffton, OH The Universal Technician is responsible for performing final inspections, testing, and functional checks on Universal machines prior to shipment to the customer. This position also supports onsite machine installation, startup, troubleshooting, and service of commissioned machines. Additional responsibilities include the assembly and startup of external tool magazines and pallet storage systems, as well as preparing machines and related equipment for shipment. Roles & Responsibilities Perform final inspections, testing, and functional checks of Universal machines prior to shipmentPerform onsite installation and startup of Universal machines at customer facilitiesTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and machine-control issuesPerform service and troubleshooting on commissioned machinesAssemble, install, and start up external tool magazines and pallet storage systemsPrepare machines and related equipment for shipmentUtilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers, levels, indicators, micrometers, and other measuring equipmentRead and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical prints and drawingsRead and understand NC code, including G-code and M-functionsVerify machine functionality and identify issues requiring correction before customer deliveryWork with internal teams to resolve machine issues identified during final testing or installationMaintain a high standard of quality and workmanship during machine assembly, testing, installation, and service Education & Experience Requirements High School Diploma minimum; Associates Degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering TechnologyUnderstanding of drawings, schematics and troubleshootingNC programming experience preferredPrevious CNC machining or machine building experience preferredPrevious experience with assembly equipment and robotic cells preferred General Requirements Self-motivatedAbility to work alone and in a team environmentExcellent math skillsWilling to work overtime as neededWilling to travel domestic and internationalAbility to obtain and maintain a valid passport Application Information Applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
