As a Universal Banker, you will be the face of our bank, delivering world-class service and building lasting relationships with our valued customers. The primary function of this role is to be the single point of contact for walk-in customers, fulfilling sales, service, and referral needs for a seamless customer experience. You will provide service in a timely and professional manner, expand the customer base through consultative sales techniques, and handle all tasks associated with the direct handling of funds in day-to-day banking transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a warm and friendly smile, creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflects our commitment to exceptional service, specifically embracing and demonstrating MAGIC customer service strategies.
• Process transactions efficiently and accurately such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and account inquiries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with banking regulations.
• Handle large sums of cash and maintain assigned limits; perform cash settlement and supervisory responsibilities in support of branch leadership and goals.
• Educate customers on our wide range of banking products and services, helping them make informed decisions that meet their financial needs and sales goals.
• Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their unique financial situations and offering personalized solutions, including opening deposit products and selling consumer credit products with an NMLS License.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services, maximizing customer satisfaction and contributing to the bank's growth.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and product knowledge, attending training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and expertise.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure seamless integration of services and provide exceptional customer experiences.
• Adhere to banking regulations and compliance standards, maintaining the highest level of integrity and confidentiality in all transactions.
• Embrace a culture of continuous improvement, actively seeking feedback and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Proactively resolve all customer issues with a sense of urgency to meet and exceed customers’ needs and expectations, while taking ownership and accountability of customer issues and complaints.
• Responsible for sales goals to expand the customer base through consultative sales techniques; build relationships and sell consumer credit products with an NMLS license.
• Report on teller differences daily.
• Assist Universal Supervisor, verify cash shipments, conduct teller, vault, and ATM audits as needed.
• Comply with all opening and closing procedures.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with and hold others accountable for behaviors consistent with our Mission/Values.
• Assist in the development of new business for Firstrust by identifying customer/prospect needs and suggesting appropriate services.
• Maintain effective communication and teamwork within the branch.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by branch management.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent; additional education in finance or related field a plus.
• Minimum of two years of face-to-face customer service experience, preferably in a banking or retail environment with cash handling experience.
• PC literacy; experience with Salesforce or comparable Customer Relationship Management system a plus.
• Ability to navigate multiple software applications.
• NMLS or Notary certification a plus.
• Proficient in using banking software and technology, with a high level of accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing preferred.
• Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to learn and sell bank products and services.
• Ability to function in a financial institution/branch environment and utilize standard office equipment.
• Outgoing and proactive with strong listening and verbal communication skills.
• Physical requirements include lifting heavy coin trays and standing or sitting for prolonged periods while working on a computer.
• Willingness to travel locally to attend training or support bank staffing needs.

Schedule

Must be able to work limited weekend hours, depending on branch and Bank needs. Specific schedule to be determined by Branch Manager.
