Universal Banker I - Full Time - Court St., Brooklyn, NY

About the Role

As a Full Time Universal Banker at Columbia Bank, you will provide a full range of banking services to retail customers, including both transactional and non-transactional processes. You will offer personalized banking options, assist in reaching branch goals, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Process all banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cashing checks, money orders, gift and bank checks, loan payments, and safe deposit box rentals.
• Open new deposit and checking accounts, explain products to customers, and handle deceased accounts.
• Assist with safe deposit boxes, answer inquiries, and resolve customer problems or complaints.
• Discuss personal financial needs with customers, make recommendations, and cross-sell bank products and services.
• Prepare daily proof sheets, assist with end-of-day closing procedures, and maintain accurate customer and account records.
• Make referrals to Wealth Management, First Jersey Title, Mortgage Origination, and other bank departments.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.
• 1-2 years of retail or customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of financial products preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, time management, organizational, and PC skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work weekends as needed or scheduled.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Mandatory attendance and successful completion of training classes.

Training

Universal Banker positions require full-time training for 10 business days. Training schedules are based on availability.

Schedule

Monday to Friday: 8:30am until closing (40 hours). Must be able to work alternating Saturdays: 8:30am until closing based on business needs.
