Universal Banker I

About the role

We are looking for a Universal Banker I to join our Buena Park Office branch team. The Universal Banker I will conduct client and bank transactions with accuracy, speed, efficiency, and professionalism. You will consistently provide excellent client service, cross-sell bank products and services, and generate referrals as appropriate. Employees in this position may be progressively cross-trained in new account processes based on the sales and service needs of the branch.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service in handling clients in-person or on the telephone.
• Perform teller, new accounts, or client service functions as needed.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and other transactions.
• Assist with posting transactions over authority limits or exceptionally complex transactions.
• Ensure loss prevention in processing all transactions and duties.
• Issue cashier’s checks and other negotiable items.
• Assist with opening new accounts and gathering customer information.
• Stay informed and compliant with policies, practices, regulations, and laws applicable to the job function.
• Input client information into the bank system for various transactions.
• Maintain and audit a cash drawer according to policy and schedule.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in bank operations preferred, but not required.
• Cash handling experience in a bank or retail setting preferred.
• Ability to follow precise directions and learn banking equipment and software quickly.
• Present a professional image when dealing with clients, interdepartmental, and external representatives.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image in writing, in person, and over the phone.
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or client complaints.
• Bilingual in English and Korean is preferred.
