About the role
The Universal Banker with PlainsCapital Bank is a cross-trained retail banking professional responsible for providing both new accounts and teller services. This role requires a thorough knowledge of products and services, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to build rapport with new clients.
Responsibilities
- Prompts acknowledgment of customers and maintains a professional and pleasant image.
- Engages in discussions, assists in leading huddles, or leads huddles during branch meetings.
- Provides customer satisfaction on transaction requests and explains various account options and services based on customer needs.
- Maintains a proactive approach with customer follow-up and completes the onboarding process.
- Completes customer transactions such as cashing checks, receiving deposits, distributing withdrawals, processing transfers, accepting loan payments, redeeming savings bonds, performing cash advances, selling money orders, and adding stop payments to accounts.
- Participates in huddles and attends branch meetings.
- Responds to inquiries from both internal and external clients regarding bank products, services, and operations.
- Performs routine maintenance requests or fulfillment needs for clients.
- Completes all assigned training requirements on time.
- Participates in one-on-one coaching and feedback sessions for personal and career growth.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of previous banking experience with a strong preference for experience in retail banking sales and/or new accounts.
- Previous cash handling experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and provide effective solutions.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Bank’s product suite.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn and utilize custom banking systems and applications in a rapidly changing business and technology environment.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Self-motivated with strong initiative, high level of accountability, and attention to detail.
