Job Description
Under general supervision, the Campus Shuttle Operator would be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of employees, students, or patients around the Medical District.
Responsibilities
- Transports employees, students, and visitors to MUSC and areas within the assigned area of operations.
- Boards and discharges passengers with concern and consideration safely and efficiently.
- Maintains administrative and operational logs including, but not limited to, inspection forms, mileage logs, passenger counts, accident/incident reports, and regular updates on mandatory training requirements.
- Communicates effectively with passengers and customers in a respectful way regarding transportation schedules and services. Maintains thorough work records while making timely reports of accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences.
- Performs operator’s pre/post vehicle inspections and adds fluids as needed. Performs fueling and cleaning of the vehicle; mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and washing. Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to substituting for other drivers, quick rides, of town travels (day trips).

- Ability to push/pull objects, up to 15 lbs., unassisted.
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
- Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand.
- Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance.
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors.
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
- Good peripheral vision capabilities.
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
- Ability to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet.
- Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
- Ability to work in dusty areas.
- Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually.
- Ability to use hand/power tools.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license.
- Computer literacy.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma and one year experience in truck driving, operating a crane or operating a motor vehicle.

Commensurate with experience.
Pay
$37,200.00 - $59,500.00 per year
Schedule
40 hours per week
