About the Role
As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine sub-specialist, you will provide clinical care for high-risk OB/GYN patients in outpatient and inpatient settings, including labor and delivery. You will also offer consultative services for referring physicians from MUSC and across South Carolina.
Responsibilities
- See high-risk OB/GYN patients in an outpatient setting
- Read and perform ultrasounds
- Supervise genetic counseling
- Perform appropriate MFM surgical and invasive procedures
- Provide admission, discharge, and rounding on inpatients, including labor and delivery
- Offer consultative services for OB/GYN patients referred by physicians from MUSC and throughout South Carolina
- Work Monday through Friday at the Prenatal Wellness Center or outreach clinics
- Take MFM and OB/GYN call when assigned or as needed by the Department
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform job functions in an upright, seated, or walking/mobile position (Frequent: 2-6 hours per shift)
- Work indoors (Continuous: 6-8 hours per shift)
- Work outdoors in all weather and temperature extremes (Infrequent: 0-2 hours per shift)
- Work in confined/cramped spaces (Infrequent)
- Perform job functions from kneeling or squatting positions (Infrequent)
- Perform 'pinching' operations (Infrequent)
- Fully use both hands/arms and perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows/shoulders (Frequent)
- Reach in all directions (Frequent)
- Good finger dexterity and tactile sensory functions (Continuous)
- Lift, carry, push, pull, or lower objects up to 15 lbs., unassisted (Infrequent)
- Maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one or both eyes (Continuous)
- See and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance (Frequent)
- Determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception and peripheral vision (Continuous)
- Maintain hearing acuity, with correction (Continuous)
- Perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (Frequent)
Schedule
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40
- Primarily Monday through Friday at the Prenatal Wellness Center or outreach clinics
- On-call duties for MFM and OB/GYN as assigned or needed
