About the role

The Medical University of South Carolina offers a one-year non-ACGME fellowship/junior faculty (Clinical Instructor) position in Breast Imaging starting July 1, 2027. The fellowship is centered on Breast Imaging and is based at the Hollings Cancer Center Breast Imaging Division.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical work and training in the MUSC Hospital/Hollings Cancer Center and MUSCP affiliated sites.
  • Work closely with referring physicians to ensure appropriate studies are performed.
  • Participate in resident and medical student teaching.
  • Encourage and engage in research interests.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Completion of 4-year radiology residency program.
  • Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Radiology.
  • Able to obtain a permanent (unrestricted) South Carolina medical license before the start of the fellowship.

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous: Perform job functions in an upright position.
  • Frequent: Perform job functions in a seated position, walk/move around, climb stairs, climb ladders, work indoors, work in confined/cramped spaces, bend at the waist, twist at the waist, squat, perform pinching operations, use both hands/arms, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, use both legs, reach in all directions, match/discriminate between colors, determine distance/relationship between objects, have good peripheral vision, have good hearing acuity, have bi-lateral hand movement skills, perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, be qualified physically for respirator use.
  • Infrequent: Lift and carry 150 lbs., lift and carry objects up to 75 lbs. from floor level to height of 36 inches, lift and carry objects up to 75 lbs. from height of 36 inches to floor level, lift and carry patients weighing up to 300 lbs. assisted, push/pull objects up to 200 lbs., maintain 20/40 vision, see and recognize objects close at hand, see and recognize objects at a distance, match or discriminate between colors, determine distance/relationship between objects, have good peripheral vision capabilities, have good hearing acuity, have bi-lateral hand movement skills, perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, be qualified physically for respirator use.

  • Ability to maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required.
