About the Role

As a Unit Specialist, you will directly supervise addicted adolescent clients, provide continuity of program services, and deliver direct counseling, including individual, case management, group, and lecture activities.
Sign-on Bonus of $4,000 paid out within 2 years of hire. $250 will be paid during your first paycheck.
Responsibilities
- Work hours prescribed by the Supervisor and any additional hours deemed necessary for assigned responsibilities.
- Serve as a role model for staff, clients, and customers, demonstrating positive guest relations.
- Supervise and manage client behavior, providing appropriate behavioral interventions and consequences.
- Coordinate and supervise client recreational activities.
- Monitor assigned clients by consulting with the primary counselor to develop and implement individual treatment plans and schedule individual sessions for AA step work and treatment plan objectives.
- Ensure client service records are maintained consistent with required rules and regulations.
- Develop and present all patient lectures listed on the client’s lecture schedule.
- Observe, monitor, and record group dynamics.
- Facilitate focal group discussion sessions.
- Consult with the treatment team and plan daily therapeutic direction for designated shifts.
- Read all logs and obtain pertinent information from staff of previous shifts, counselors, teachers, etc.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED and one year of addiction treatment experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certified Addictions Counselor (CADC) or able to be certified within 24 months.
- Skilled in behavioral management techniques.
- Ability to coordinate and present lectures for patients, parents, and community resources.

Schedule
Fri-Mon 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (40 hours per week), 1st shift.
Pay
- Starting pay based on education, experience, and credentials:
- High School/GED: $18.43 per hour
- Associate’s degree: $19.37 per hour
- Bachelor’s degree: $20.25 per hour
- CADC Certification: $1,500 annualized increase.
- Shift Differentials:
- 2nd shift: +$0.25/hour
- 3rd shift: +$0.50/hour
- Incentives: $0.50/hour with CADC certification.
