Job Summary The Unit Secretary / Patient Care Tech position is a hybrid role that primarily acts as a unit secretary and will also perform as needed basic nursing assistant duties and a variety of additional duties based on the assigned nursing unit with appropriate training and clinical competency validation in support and care of patients. Works within scope of practice and under close/general supervision of licensed personnel. Location: Laurens County Medical Campus Facility Laurens County Hospital Department Cardiac Telemetry. Responsibilities

• Performs general reception and other duties at the nurse’s station.
• Responds to patient calls via intercom or in person.
• Assists patients, family, visitors and staff in a kind, professional and efficient manner.
• Provides administrative and clerical support as needed for unit but not limited to data entry, meeting minutes, maintaining bulletin boards, and organizing downtime forms.
• Manages ordering, stocking, and inventory of equipment and supplies in collaboration with nurse manager which includes daily monitoring of supplies, ordering office or special supplies, monitoring PAR levels of supplies, and maintaining/organizing unit supply rooms.
• Coordinates the maintenance of a safe, clean, and functional physical environment in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Monitors designated patient safety systems for alerts and immediately notifies the appropriate RN.
• Provides direct patient care within scope of practice as directed by providers and licensed staff in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols based on assigned
