Unit Secretary/CNA-Sat & Sun

Responsibilities

• Notify laboratory and radiology of tests
• Answer telephones
• Address call lights
• Monitor the EMT radio
• Maintain the cardiac monitor
• Maintain various logs
• Keep the EMS resource site up to date
• Aid in patient discharge or transfers by copying selected parts of the chart
• Make sure all patients have an identification bracelet
• Schedule outpatient procedures when appropriate
• Schedule follow up appointments for discharging patients
• Work closely with floor staff
• Maintain order and neatness at the nurses station
• Provide miscellaneous support duties to the Charge Nurse
• Assist on the floor as a C.N.A when needed, or ER

Requirements

• High school graduate preferred
• Current CNA certification or actively in an Idaho approved CNA training program and working under the supervision of a licensed RN
• Basic knowledge of medical procedures and treatments required
• One year's experience with electronic medical records system preferred
• Maintains current BLS certification

Skills/Competencies

• Demonstrate a high degree of competence in the EHR system to fulfill duties as required
