About the role

The Unit Secretary position organizes and manages the department's activities. You will oversee office supply inventory, room utilization, and audio/visual equipment utilization. You will provide clerical support for the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Director of Risk Management & Safety. You will coordinate special projects as assigned. You will interact with physicians, hospital directors, other hospital executives, as well as employees, patients, and families.

Requirements

• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Graduate of Unit Secretary or medical terminology course preferred
• Unit Secretary experience preferred
• Experience with computers and medical terminology is required
• Previous customer service and secretarial experience preferred
• Advanced computer skills are preferred
• Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Knowledge of PC-based computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) preferred
• General knowledge of legal procedures/practices
• Strong spelling, grammar, verbal communication, and written composition skills
