4 Center is 4C OB Special Care and Antepartum Women's Health at Butterworth Hospital. High-risk pregnancy patients with various complications such as early labor, premature rupture of membranes, issues with fetal growth, high blood pressure, diabetes management, and patients with multiples like twins or triplets that need frequent monitoring.

Scope of Work

This role requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Two years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting with the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook Calendar, Microsoft Word, etc.) is strongly preferred. Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies, and equipment according to hospital and unit-specific standards.

Responsibilities

• Takes phone calls
• Helps with directions to all visitors or outside team members to the unit (lab, radiology, patient transport, nutrition services, environmental services)
• Calls support when directed by clinical staff
• Assists with discharge, admit, and transfer paperwork
• Orders supplies
• Ensures rooms are appropriately stocked
• Answers call lights for any non-direct patient care needs
• May be required to interface with patients in a clinical setting
• Performs assistive patient care activities under supervision and as delegated by a Registered Nurse (RN) including transporting patients, passing waters, etc. per unit standards
• Transports equipment to patient care areas as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of related experience is preferred
• Successful completion of competency-based orientation program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days for Grand Rapids Inpatient Women's Health
