Unit Manager RN / LPN

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular nursing rounds throughout each shift to monitor resident care, assess evolving needs, and maintain safety standards.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary staff to implement individualized care plans and support smooth discharge planning.
• Direct, mentor, and supervise shift nursing staff, providing guidance on medication administration, treatments, and clinical tasks.
• Assist with performance evaluations, staff coaching, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive unit culture.
• Ensure precise, confidential medical record-keeping compliant with HIPAA and state/federal healthcare regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Illinois State License as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with no disciplinary actions in effect.
• Certifications: Current CPR Certification.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct care experience in long-term care, restorative, or geriatric nursing. Minimum 1 year of leadership or nursing management experience.

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Prior experience in inpatient, palliative, or specialized long-term care settings.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and basic computer skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
