Unit Clerk - Med/Surg Infill 5 - Part-time - Evenings

About the role

Be the face of patient excellence and quality customer service as a Unit Clerk in the Med/Surg Infill 5 unit at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. This part-time position involves greeting patients and family members, providing compassionate direction, and ensuring a calm, welcoming environment. You will play a key role in supporting the nursing unit by coordinating appointments, performing clerical duties, and maintaining efficient patient information flow.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct patients, family members, and visitors with a compassionate and respectful demeanor.
• Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate patient information flow.
• Page nurses and answer phones on the unit.
• Sign for important medical deliveries.
• Multitask between people and responsibilities while maintaining a courteous and respectful presence.

Schedule

Part-time position requiring 2 shifts per week on evenings from 3:30 PM to midnight.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Minimum of one year of previous clerical experience.
• Knowledge of computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and courteously with staff, patients, and visitors.

Preferred Criteria

• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of Cerner and Eagle.

Pay

Hourly salary range: $24.79 – $26.66.
