Responsibilities
- Perform clerical and administrative duties to support nursing unit operations and clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate and organized resident records, charts, and documentation in accordance with facility procedures.
- Aid in communication between nursing staff, physicians, families, and other departments.
- Manage phone calls, messages, and correspondence promptly and professionally.
- Support scheduling, documentation tracking, and general unit organization as needed.
- Ensure supplies, forms, and office materials are maintained and readily available for unit use.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident and facility information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Provide general administrative support to ensure efficient workflow within the nursing unit.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least one (1) year of related experience as a Unit Clerk and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently are necessary.
- Demonstrate patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Show compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly population.
