Responsibilities
- Acts as receptionist, greeting and interacting with patients, visitors, and others.
- Greets all patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Performs various unit clerical tasks including mailing, messages, record-keeping, typing, and filing.
- Distributes mail, utilizes paging system, takes and delivers messages for unit personnel.
- Handles patient appointment system.
- Schedules patient appointments in coordination with the clinical staff.
- Interacts with all others in a manner consistent with excellent hospital public relations.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous manner during interactions with patients, hospital staff, physicians and their office staff, and with all other contacts.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety.
- Maintains safe, clean, and organized environment in all clerical areas.
- Respects patients' rights at all times as identified within the institution.
- Assists in maintaining supplies at appropriate inventory levels.
- Performs efficiently in emergency situations as directed.
- Appropriately seeks information or assistance from administrator or other resource people.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required.
- One (1) to Two (2) years administrative clerical experience, preferably in a patient care environment, or current active YNHHS internal experience covering Business Associate/Unit Associate responsibilities.
- Prior computer usage strongly preferred.
