Unit Assistant
Position Overview
Under the supervision and direction of the unit, performs a variety of clerical and receptionist duties to support daily operations. Assists with tasks related to patient care and helps maintain the organization, cleanliness, and overall order of the unit in accordance with Nursing Division policies, procedures, and standards of practice. This role serves as an entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), providing foundational experience and exposure to patient care environments.

Work Shift: Day
Compensation Range: $15.00 - $20.74 per hour, depending on experience
Education/Experience: Minimum Required: Graduation from High School or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Assists with administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records.
- Greets patients and visitors, providing information and directing them to appropriate departments or personnel.
- Assists with light cleaning and maintenance of the unit, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Supports patient care activities as directed by nursing staff, including assisting with meal preparation and medication administration.
- Participates in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care environments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting and moving patients as needed
