Unit 18 Lecturer (non-senate) 2026-2027 - OPEN POOL

About the role

The Wen School of Public Health at the University of California-Irvine is seeking applications for temporary Unit 18 Lecturers (Non-Senate Faculty) for the 2026-2027 academic year to teach courses in graduate and undergraduate programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in public health and related fields at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Work with a diverse student body and provide mentoring and support.
• Develop and deliver effective lectures, assignments, and assessments using various teaching modalities.
• Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback.
• Maintain current knowledge in public health and related fields.

Requirements

• A master's or doctoral degree, or equivalent degree, in public health or a related field.
• Professional expertise and previous teaching experience in public health and related fields.
• Excellent pedagogical and organizational skills.
• Experience teaching core courses such as public health policy, public health management, statistics, environmental health, and chronic and infectious disease epidemiology.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree, or equivalent degree, in public health or a related field.
• Applicants must hold a master's or doctoral degree, or equivalent degree, in public health or a related field.

Skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach in various modalities (online, remote, hybrid, and on-ground).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Benefits

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Generally, lecturers are offered appointments for one quarter at a time and at varying percentages of time, depending on the number and nature of courses assigned.
